At the start of the year, we made a bold promise in our newsletter: we pledged to refresh our digital presence by adding 1,000 new, never before seen images across our web platforms before the year came to a close. We wanted to offer our clients, design enthusiasts, and the broader public unprecedented access to our portfolio, stretching from our earliest landmark projects to our latest completions.
We set December as our deadline. We reached 1,000 images in August.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is where those images live. Beyond our core architectural practice, the WOLF brand encompasses specialised platforms like Wolf Design Review and Wolf Fascinations, which celebrate high design in object curation, furniture, and automotive engineering. However, our goal of 1,000 images was not achieved by pooling every design discipline together. We crossed the 1,000 image mark using only our four dedicated architectural websites: Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, and Custom Garage Design.
Reaching this target early was gratifying, but the true accomplishment lies in how we did it.
Curation Over Quantity: Breathing New Life Into the Archives
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but only if that picture tells the right story. From the beginning, this initiative was never about dumping raw image files onto a web server to hit a numerical target. Every single photograph uploaded had to earn its place. Each image was carefully selected to be truly representative of our design ethos, structural quality, and spatial innovation, designed to inspire viewers to imagine those same high standard spaces in their own lives.
To achieve this depth, we went deep into the WOLF archives. We unearthed legacy projects, recovering original media from back when projects were documented on film.
Our team undertook a meticulous restoration process: digitising, colour correcting, and polishing archival photography to bring forgotten angles and classic builds back into the light.
